Using the Watch App - Heart Rate Functions

Pulse
The Pulse menu shows your most recent pulse in bpm and the time it was last recorded
The badge colour reflects what heart rate zone you are in, the more blue the lower your heart rate, if you see more red this is a greater elevated heart rate
Tap on the Pulse menu to record your pulse, view your daily heart rate or record notes
Taking Your Pulse
Tap on Pulse from the menu to open the pulse gauge
Tap on the refresh icon in the bottom left corner. This will start the measurement process which will take around 5-10 secs
You will get the best results if you rest your wrist on a stable surface & remain still
Checking Pulse
You will notice a flashing heart icon when your Watch is checking your pulse. If you have WatchOS6 or higher, then the take pulse option will now take 5 readings.
It will continue this process even if the screen dims. It plots each reading in ever brighter yellow. It will lightly tap after each reading and buzz after 5 readings have been taken. See below how each reading is stamped with the a number out of 5 for each pulse reading. A final average of all pulse readings will show as the final measurement
Viewing Your Pulse Trend
Tap on Pulse from the menu to open the pulse gauge
Tap on the microphone icon in the bottom right corner. This will open a graph showing the last 1 hr of pulse recordings
Use the Watch crown spin to move across the line (tap the screen for an example)
You will notice a little person icon in the bottom left corner of the screen, this acts a quick reference:
Green Person = the measurement was taken when you were sedentary (did not move for 5 minutes before the measurement)
Red Person = You were active, eg. walking, etc.
Blue = Neither of the above
Record a note to align to that specific reading by tapping the microphone icon (more info below)
Notes For Your Pulse
Press and hold firmly until you feel a bump on any screen in HeartWatch and select Notes. Using the crown spin, find the measurement you wish to apply the note
Tap the microphone icon located in the bottom right corner
You have 3 options for recording notes:
Voice activated by speaking into your Watch
Text recognition by drawing letters into your Watch
Adding emojis
Previously recorded comments will also show, this is handy for adding common phrases like 'feeling stressed'
Confirm the note when prompted and this will be recorded, accessible from Notes in your iPhone
Daily
The Daily menu shows your up-to-date average daily heart rate in bpm. It also shows your minimum and maximum heart rates, which excludes workouts and sleeping
The badge colour reflects what heart rate zone you are in, the more blue the more your heart rate is resting, if you see more red this is a greater elevated heart rate
Tap on the Daily menu to view your daily heart rate trend and record notes
Viewing Your Daily Heart Rate
Tap on Daily from the menu to open the Daily view
The main badge shows your daily avg, along with the times recorded for your min and max daily heart rates
Tap the badge to go into the graph view. Use the Watch crown spin to move across the graph line (tap the Watch screen for an example). This graph shows the last 3 hours
You will notice a little person icon in the bottom left corner of the screen, this acts a quick reference:

Sedentary
Sedentary heartbeat is a subset of the Daily heartbeat readings where you have been still for at least 5 minutes prior to the heartbeat sample
The Sedentary menu shows your up-to-date average sedentary heart rate in bpm. It also shows your minimum and maximum for the current day
The badge colour reflects what heart rate zone you are in, the more blue the more your heart rate is resting, if you see more red this is a greater elevated heart rate
Tap on the Sedentary menu to view your daily heart rate and record notes
Viewing Your Sedentary Heart Rate
Tap on Sedentary from the menu to open the Sedentary view
The main badge shows your sedentary avg heart rate, along with the times recorded for your min and max
Tap the badge to go into the graph view. Use the Watch crown spin to move across the line (tap the Watch screen for an example). This shows the last 3 hours.
Record a note to align to that specific reading by tapping the microphone icon or doing a touch and hold (force press)
